Journey Into Spiritualism...

Our Philosophy
~ Our Religion...

SPIRITUALISM is an officially registered Religion in the UK and most parts of the Western World.  It is recognised in law by Her Majesty's Government.  Spiritualism has no fixed dogma or creed.  We base our beliefs on what are termed The Seven Principles.  There are other Spiritualist organisations who have adopted different principles, though all are generally common in application and function.

SEVEN PRINCIPLES  *Click*

1.    Fatherhood of God
2.    Brotherhood of Man
3.    Communion of spirits and the ministry of angels
4.    Personal Responsibility
5.    Continuous existence of the human soul
6.    Compensation and retribution hereafter for all the good and evil deeds done on earth
7.    Eternal progress open to every human soul

Coming to a Spiritualist Church or Centre...?

AS WITH ANY SPIRITUALIST ASSOCIATION, it is a House of God first and foremost and it is expected of those in attendance that it should always be respected as such.

Please endeavour to be on time.

With the exception of dogmatic Spiritualists' National Union (SNU) churches and centres,  Jesus, Moses, Buddha, Mohammed, and so forth are all generally recognised, together with other past Masters of Light and Prophets.  Spiritualism is the continuance of those same powers of the Spirit expressed through the likes of Jesus.

We are discerners.

When it comes to the concept of God; that which is seen is created by that which is unseen.  We do not define God for you; you find [and define] God for yourself.

Clairvoyant Services:

Question: What happens in a Spiritualist Service?
USUALLY AN ADDRESS is given by a visiting Medium of the day; always on the philosophy of Spiritualism.  This is then followed by a demonstration of mediumship [meaning evidence offered for survival after the death of the physical body].

They are not Tarot Readers of Fortune Tellers.   They are listeners who pass on information.

Strictly speaking, the only requirement of any Spiritualist Medium is to endeavour to prove the 5th Principle through the 3rd.

Mediums are not Social Workers or Psychiatrists.

GENERAL FORMAT OF THE
OPEN CIRCLE:
Less formal than the normal religious service we offer insomuch as it gives equal opportunity to all comers to participate in a public forum, irrespective of what level they are at.  Most of the working Church Mediums, Healers and other categories of Spirit Workers began their ministry in the Open Circle.

We start with an opening prayer.  Then someone volunteers a short philosophy or reading on Spiritualism or a related topic.  Then we attune [and open] ourselves through a guided excercise by going into the quiet.  There we seek communion between worlds.  Then we open up the circle and offer the floor to those who may wish to work.  This will last around thirty minutes or so, after which the chairperson will close and then go around the circle and ask of all what may have been received.  The chairperson will also, where possible, explain what they may have receive for you.  Obviously this is dependent on time and numbers in attendance.

Also, the format of the circle maybe changed from time-to-time.

THE SPIRITUAL AWARENESS CLASS: (SNU classes are ~ sadly ~ not, as a matter of policy, open to the public). However, there are many other forward-looking associations whose doors are open and welcoming to non-members and these should be sought out in difference to the SNU-type.

Aimed at the more serious student.  Open to all ages, it is an informal class with an underlying discipline.  It is, as the title implies, for all to find and gain their own spiritual awareness ~ something which we all possess.  Different teachers, mediums, lecturers, healers and so forth have been booked throughout the year to come and serve.   It is always an experiment and learning can be fun.  Students, many times, report greater feelings of confidence and upliftment in their daily lives through attending such classes.

IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT BECOMING A MEDIUM!

IT IS ABOUT GAINING AND DEVELOPING YOUR OWN SPIRITUAL AWARENESS.

FINALLY...
If you do not find what you were looking for  at your chosen service, then go along to another one and see a different medium; hear a different philosophy ~ try a different activity.
